Chapter 1 Welcome to QANDA!
Article 1 These Terms and Conditions are for the following purposes.
Mathpresso Inc.(hereinafter “QANDA Team”) is committed to providing the best educational service that anyone can easily and inexpensively access. Thank you for joining the efforts of the QANDA Team. These Terms and Conditions are prepared to define the rights, obligations, and other relevant prerequisites of QANDA Team and Teacher-Members regarding the educational services provided by QANDA Team. Please follow these Terms and Conditions so that QANDA Services can be the best space for everyone who wants to share knowledge and learn!
Article 2 Vocabulary used in these Terms and Conditions is defined as follows.
1. “QANDA Service(s)” means all services provided by QANDA Team, such as Problem Solution Search Service, 1:1 Q&A Service, Community Service, Basic Concept Search Service, Review Notes Service, QANDA Tutoring Service, QANDA Study Service, etc.
2. “QANDA App” means the mobile application operated by QANDA Team to provide QANDA Services.
3. “QANDA Website” means the internet website operated by QANDA Team to provide QANDA Services.
4. “ID(s)” means a combination of letters and numbers chosen by Members and approved by QANDA Team, which is used for Member identification.
5. “Password(s)” means a combination of letters and numbers selected by Members which is used for Member authentication.
6. “Coin(s)” means virtual data with a certain monetary unit of calculation which is accumulated and used within the QANDA Services.
7. “Question Post(s)” means texts and/or images registered by Members to use Problem Solution Search Service and/or 1:1 Q&A Service.
8. “Answer Post(s)” means texts, comments, images, videos, links, and other files registered as explanations or answers to the Question Posts.
9. “Community Post(s)” means texts, comments, images, videos, links, and other files posted by Members on the community service forum to interact with other Members.
10. “Post(s)” means texts, comments, images, videos, links, and other various files registered by Members while using QANDA Services, including Question Posts, Answer Posts, Community Posts, profiles and status messages, etc.
Article 3 These Terms and Conditions are posted and modified as follows.
① QANDA Team posts these Terms and Conditions on the main page of the QANDA Website and QANDA Teacher App so that Teacher-Members may easily check its contents.
② QANDA Team may change these Terms and Conditions to the extent that such amendments do not violate applicable laws and regulations.
③ If QANDA Team changes these Terms and Conditions, QANDA Team will notify and specify the effective date and reasons for such amendments along with the existing Terms and Conditions pursuant to the method of paragraph (1), from 7 days before the effective date to the day before the effective date. Provided, if the amended Terms and Conditions may put the Teacher-Members at a disadvantage, the above will be notified in the same way, from 30 days before the effective date to the day before the effective date. Furthermore, QANDA Team will clearly notify the above via additional means including emails, electronic notes, login pop-up pages, etc.
④ If the Teacher-Members do not explicitly express their intention to refuse before the effective date of the amended Terms and Conditions, even though QANDA Team has clearly indicated that the Teacher-Members will be deemed as having agreed thereto if they do not explicitly express the intention to refuse by the effective date while notifying or informing the amended Terms and Conditions pursuant to paragraph (3), it will be deemed that they have agreed to the application of the amended Terms and Conditions.
⑤ QANDA Team may not apply the amended Terms and Conditions to the Teacher-Members who have expressed their intention to refuse the application of the modified Terms and Conditions. In this case, the Teacher-Members may terminate the Contract for Use under these Terms and Conditions (hereinafter “the Contract for Use”) by withdrawing their membership. QANDA Team may terminate the Contract for Use only if the existing Terms and Conditions may not be continually applicable to such Teacher-Members.
Article 4 Please refer to the QANDA Terms and Conditions and operation policy together.
① If there is something to be informed to Members, QANDA Team will notify the Members using the email address, mobile phone number, etc. registered by Members or by push notification of the QANDA App.
② If there is something to be informed to all Members, notification pursuant to the prior paragraph may be substituted by posting the notification at a conspicuous place on QANDA App or QANDA Website for at least 7 days.
Article 5 Please refer to the individual terms of service and operation policies together.
① While these Terms and Conditions apply to QANDA Services by default, individual terms of service and/or operation policies other than these Terms and Conditions may apply in the process of providing a variety of services.
② If there is any conflict between the individual terms of service or operation policies and these Terms and Conditions, the individual terms and conditions and operation policies shall prevail.
Chapter 2 Membership
Article 6 By signing up as a Member, you may use more QANDA Services.
① Users who want to use QANDA Services shall sign up for a membership after reading and agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. QANDA Team completes the registration process by its acceptance and provides a QANDA Service user account (hereinafter the “Account”).
② Membership applicants shall provide truthful information when signing up for a membership. Disadvantages and legal liabilities arising from providing false information are held by the membership applicant.
③ QANDA Team may request the verification of real names and identities via identification service agencies if necessary. When a minor applies for a membership, a separate guide or procedure may be used to confirm the consent of legal representatives.
④ In principle, QANDA Team accepts the membership application of the users pursuant to paragraph (1). Provided, QANDA Team may not accept the membership application or revoke the acceptance of the application at any time after the acceptance pursuant to the following subparagraphs.

If acceptance is not possible due to reasons attributable to the user

If the user does not use his/her real name when required

If the user uses the names or personal information of another person

If the user provides false information

If the user uses IDs already in use

If the user omits the required fields of the membership application form

If the user has a history of loss of membership

If the user violates these Terms and Conditions or applicable laws and regulations

If personal information provided in the membership application form (IDs, Passwords, addresses, etc.) is against public order and morals or insults others

If there are any other reasons for which acceptance is objectively impossible
⑤ QANDA Team may withhold acceptance due to the lack of Service-related facilities or other technical or business reasons. In this case, QANDA Team notifies the membership applicant without delay.
Article 7 Please manage your Account Information with care!
① Members are responsible for managing their IDs and Passwords safely and shall not disclose such information by selling, transferring, or renting etc., for the use of third parties. If the Members violate this term and a third party uses the Account, the Member is liable for the actions of the third party violating applicable laws and regulations, Terms and Conditions, and policies.
② Members shall immediately notify QANDA Team if Members have become aware that IDs or Passwords have been divulged and are being used by third parties.
③ When the notice of the prior paragraph is received, QANDA Team may request the Member to take necessary measures, such as changing the Password, in order to protect the Account information and prevent unauthorized use of the Services. Unless special circumstances exist, the Member shall faithfully comply with the request of QANDA Team.
④ QANDA Team may take necessary safeguards such as temporary restriction of logins, without prior notice to the Member, if there are reasons, such as abnormal login histories, to suspect that IDs or Passwords have been divulged.
⑤ Members shall keep the Account information up-to-date because individual communication, such as notices, announcements, etc. for each member is made via registered email address, phone number, etc.
⑥ QANDA Team is not liable for disadvantages caused by the Member’s non-compliance with the obligations pursuant to this Article.
Article 8 Members may view or change their information at any time.
① Members may view and change their information at any time via “My Page” of the QANDA App or the customer service center. QANDA Team may request Members to verify specific personal information for identity verification purposes.
② QANDA Team is not liable for disadvantages caused by Members not updating or erroneously modifying their information.
③ QANDA Team may directly modify the Account information if deemed necessary.
Article 9 Members may terminate the Contract for Use at any time.
① If Members wish to terminate the Contract for Use, Members may request to withdraw membership via QANDA App, QANDA Website, or the customer service center.
② When the request of the prior paragraph is received, QANDA Team shall process the withdrawal and notify the Member thereof without delay.
③ Even after the withdrawal, Posts registered by the Member on QANDA Services before the withdrawal are preserved. If the Member does not wish to preserve these Posts, the Member should delete the Posts before applying for the withdrawal of membership. Upon withdrawal, the Account information is deleted, and thus the Posts could be impossible to delete because the Member’s identity cannot be verified.
Chapter 3 QANDA Services
Article 10 QANDA Team is committed to providing stable services.
① QANDA Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in principle.
② QANDA Team may restrict, suspend, modify, or terminate all or part of the QANDA Services in the occurrence of the following cases.

In the case of force majeure events such as war, accident, natural disaster, national emergency, etc.

In the case of difficulties to provide normal Service due to power outage, equipment failure, excessive traffic, etc.

In the case of inevitable reasons such as repair or construction of Service facilities
-
In the case of substantial necessity to restrict, suspend, modify or terminate the Service for business purposes of QANDA Team
③ If QANDA Services are restricted, suspended, modified, or terminated pursuant to the prior paragraph, QANDA Team shall notify Members of its reasons and details pursuant to Article 4. Provided, if there are objectively substantial reasons for which prior notice is difficult, such notification may be given ex post facto.
④ If Service termination is notified pursuant to the prior paragraph, Members shall exhaust all accumulated Coins before the notified termination date and any Coins not exhausted by then will automatically expire. Provided, if the Service termination is notified ex post facto, reasonable compensation for unused Coins will be provided.
Article 11 Services may contain advertisements.
① Within the scope permitted by applicable laws and regulations, QANDA Team may publish a variety of information necessary for the use of QANDA Services within QANDA Services or deliver such information to the Members via email, text messages, or phone calls.
② QANDA Team may publish advertisements within QANDA Services and transmit marketing information via email, text messages, phone calls, or push notifications only to the Members who have agreed to receive such information. Members may withdraw their consent to receive marketing information at any time.
③ Members may access services provided by third parties via banners or links within QANDA Services. QANDA Team is not liable for losses or damages caused by using the services provided by the third party or communicating or transacting with the third party through the channels above.
Article 12 QANDA Team may use data to provide a better service.
QANDA Team and its subsidiaries may use data provided by users, such as contents, within the scope permitted by applicable laws and regulations, for the purpose of exposing the contents within QANDA Services; promoting, operating, and improving QANDA Services; conducting research for new services; researching and developing Artificial Intelligence technologies; complying with legal obligations such as web accessibility; and allowing search, collection, and links from other websites, etc.
Chapter 4 Rights and Obligations
Article 13 QANDA Team is committed to the obligations as a service provider.
① QANDA Team is committed to providing continuous and stable services. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the stable use of Services will always be provided due to the nature of the Internet environment.
② QANDA Team protects the personal information of Members pursuant to applicable laws and regulations.
③ QANDA Team provides as much convenience as possible to Members in signing, modifying, and terminating this Contract for Use.
④ In the case of Members participating as teachers in QANDA Services, QANDA Team verifies the education records of such Members via the school verification process. Provided, QANDA Team is not liable for the authenticity of the information submitted by the Member in the above verification process.
Article 14 Please respect your obligations as a Member!
① To provide a safer environment for Members using QANDA Services, and to ensure Member’s rights are respected and protected, if the following actions are confirmed, QANDA Team may suspend the use of the service of such Members for a dedicated period, terminate their Contract for Use, and/or delete relevant Posts. Furthermore, if necessary, QANDA Team may take legal actions against the Member or report the Member to the cyber police, etc. Provided, this does not imply that QANDA Team is obligated to review every content uploaded on QANDA Services.

Actions of posting spam or advertisements
A. Doing business, such as selling goods and/or services, by using QANDA Services
B. Transmitting or posting large amounts of information or advertising information that intentionally, or for the purpose of doing so, interfere with the operation of QANDA Services
C. Promoting goods or services, specific individuals or groups, etc. unrelated to QANDA Services
D. Repeatedly posting the same content (exempting those due to errors)
E. Posting for commercial or malicious purposes
2. Actions of harming other users
A. Disclosing or posting any nudity or sexual messages, videos, audio, or other information within the Service
B. Disclosing or posting profanities, hateful or violent messages, videos, audio, or other information within the Service
C. Conducting harmful or dangerous actions, or actions against the public order and morals, or posting or distributing information as codes, texts, videos, audios, sounds, etc. related to such actions
D. Offending other users through nicknames or profiles containing profanities, discriminatory or hateful expressions
E. Encouraging or recommending self-harm or suicide to other users
F. Maliciously slandering others or unreasonably infringing on the rights of others
G. Harassing other Members, such as stalking, etc.
H. Asking for money or valuables

Actions of infringing on the rights of the others
A. Posting personal information (personal data, contacts, photos, etc.) of him/herself or others
B. Using QANDA Services by illegally using or stealing the personal information of others
C. Requesting others to provide personal information
D. Infringing on the legal rights of others such as copyrights, etc.
E. Defaming others
4. Actions of causing damage to QANDA Team
A. Reporting Posts falsely or without basis
B. Using inappropriate language and behavior such as profanities against QANDA Team
C. Impersonating QANDA Team or fraudulently setting profiles, status messages, photos, etc. that may be mistaken for QANDA Team
D. Allowing third parties to use his/her IDs and Passwords
F. Encouraging the violation of these Terms and Conditions or applicable laws and regulations
G. Intentionally taking advantage of the errors in the service
H. Interfering with the provision or use of QANDA Services, etc.

Actions of registering inappropriate Question Posts
A. Registering a photo of a question that is difficult to recognize, such as blurred or out-of-focus images
B. Registering a photo in which a part of the question is cropped
C. Registering a photo that is not visible due to darkness
D. Registering a photo with multiple questions
E. Registering a photo that does not include the necessary passage (information) of the question
F. Selecting the wrong subject in the process of registering questions
G. Selecting the wrong grade level in the process of registering questions
H. Registering a question on the subject that is not provided by QANDA Services
I. Registering a question outside the elementary, middle, or high school curriculum such as college-level textbooks

Actions negatively affecting the QANDA environment
A. Posting political, religious, and other controversial contents
B. Posting content that promotes the formation of cliques
C. Posting external URL
D. Registering a photo irrelevant to the question such as a picture of the body
7. Other actions of negatively affecting QANDA Services or QANDA Team or violating applicable laws and regulations, these Terms and Conditions, individual Terms of Service, or other operational policies, etc.
② In addition to paragraph (1), QANDA Team may provide warnings or suspend the use of services in part or in whole of Members who do not comply with applicable laws and regulations, these Terms and Conditions, and operation policies, etc. If it is difficult to expect the normal implementation of the Contract for Use, QANDA Team may terminate the Contract for Use.
③ Unless restriction on the use of services pursuant to paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) requires urgent action or involves a significant violation of applicable laws and regulations, QANDA Team follows the step-by-step principle hereunder to restrict the use of services. The following restrictions on the use of services apply to the Member’s Account and devices used.

Primary Warning: Warning

Second Warning: Suspension of the use of service for 7 days

Third Warning: Suspension of the use of service for 30 days

Fourth Warning: Permanent suspension of the use of service
④ Cumulative warnings and suspension on the use of service pursuant to paragraph (3) are applied to respective units of service. For instance, by receiving one warning regarding the 1:1 Q&A Service and one warning regarding the Community Service, two warnings will be given to each service, whereas the use of service will not be suspended. If two warnings are applied regarding the Community Service, use of the Community Service will be suspended for 7 days, whereas the use of the other QANDA Services will continue to be available.
⑤ During the period of suspension on the use of service, the Member is restricted from any service-related activities, including Coin-related activities. As the period of suspension elapses, the Member may use QANDA Services again, however, the history of previous warnings and suspensions on the use of service are preserved.
⑥ If it is deemed necessary to take immediate action due to the violation of applicable laws and regulations, these Terms and Conditions, individual Terms of Service, and other operation policies, QANDA Team may suspend the use of service of the Member and terminate this Contract for Use immediately, not following the step-by-step principle specified in paragraph (3).
⑦ If the use of service of the Member is permanently suspended and this Contract for Use is terminated, QANDA Team fully refunds and retrieves all existing Coins owned by the Member. If the Member enabled the auto-renewal subscription for QANDA Services, the Member shall disable the auto-renewal subscription via the operating system (iOS, Android) or App Market (App Store, Google Play). QANDA Team does not compensate for any damages caused by not disabling the auto-renewal subscription.
Article 15 QANDA Team guarantees an objection procedure to the restriction on the use of service.
Members may object to the warning or decision to suspend the use of service made by QANDA Team. Such objection is restricted to once per each step of warning. Objections may only be made within 7 days from which the Member is notified about the warning or the decision to suspend the use of service made by QANDA Team. There is no disadvantage even if the objection is not accepted. If the objection is accepted, the warning or suspension of the use of service will be retracted.
Article 16 QANDA Team respects the rights of third parties.
① Third parties who suffer from damages due to the registered and published data within QANDA Services may request QANDA Team to take measures to recover from the damage, such as deletion of the data or posting rebuttals. In this case, QANDA Team shall take necessary measures and notify the third party without delay.
② If the infringement of the rights of third parties is confirmed, QANDA Team may take measures to recover from the damage without the request pursuant to the prior paragraph.
Article 17 Please report if inappropriate content is found.
① If content provided in QANDA Services is deemed to be inappropriate or problematic for any reason, please report by using the report function so that QANDA Team may review and improve QANDA Services.
② Reporting content does not automatically make the content immediately invisible. QANDA Team reviews the reported content pursuant to applicable laws and regulations, these Terms and Conditions, individual terms of service, other operation policies, etc., and takes necessary actions as soon as possible.
Article 18 Please protect the intellectual property rights of QANDA Team and third parties.
① Intellectual property rights (right of reproduction, right of public performance, right of public transmission, right of exhibition, right of distribution, right of rental, right of the production of derivative works, etc.) of the contents registered by the Members on QANDA Services belong to QANDA Team at the point of registration unless it conflicts with the rights of third parties. Members agree to not exercise the author’s moral rights to the contents registered on QANDA Services.
② Members are liable for any problems arising in relation to the contents registered by Members on the QANDA Services, such as defamation, breach of copyright, etc.
③ The intellectual property rights of QANDA Team’s trademarks, logos, Services, advertisements, etc. belong to QANDA Team.
④ Without the consent of QANDA Team, the Members shall not use contents acquired via QANDA Services by reproducing, transmitting, publishing, distributing, broadcasting, etc., or allow third parties to use the contents.
Article 19 QANDA Team makes the best efforts to protect Members’ Personal Information.
① QANDA Team processes personal information only to the extent agreed by Members or permitted by applicable laws and regulations and safely manages such personal information pursuant to applicable laws and regulations.
② Please refer to the Privacy Policy on the QANDA App and QANDA Website to check details about QANDA Team’s personal information processing and security measures being applied.
③ Members may not arbitrarily delete Question Posts that became public with replies or comments. Provided, if the personal information of the Member is exposed in the Question Post and the requesting Member is verified as the author of the Post, the Member may request QANDA Team to exclude access to the Post. In this case, the Coins used in relation to the Post will not be refunded.
Chapter 5 Paid Service
Article 20 QANDA Team provides a variety of paid services.
① QANDA Team provides a variety of paid services aiding the learning experience of users. Members may purchase these paid services in accordance with the procedures provided by QANDA Team.
② Pursuant to applicable laws and regulations, QANDA Team specifies information such as the name, type, content, price, etc. of the paid services in the sales procedure.
③ Members may use paid services until the period specified in the sales procedure. Provided, if the Service is terminated pursuant to Article 10, Members may use the Paid Service until the period announced pursuant to Article 10.
④ Members may not transfer, inherit, or sell the right to use the paid services or use it as collateral to third parties without prior written approval from QANDA Team.
Article 21 Payments by minor Members require the consent of a legal representative.
① In principle, payments by minor Members shall be made with the consent of a legal representative (parents or guardians)
② Whether the party who made the payment is a minor Member and whether the payment is consented by a legal representative shall be determined based on the device in which the payment is made, information of the person who made the payment, and the holder of the payment method, etc.
③ A minor Member’s legal representative may cancel a minor Member’s contract entered without his/her consent. Provided, cancellation of the contract is restricted if the price is paid with the property permitted by the legal representative to dispose within a specified scope, or if the minor Member fraudulently induces the belief that the Member is a person of full capacity or that the Member has obtained the consent of his/her legal representative.
④ QANDA Team, if necessary, may request the submission of relevant supporting documents to verify whether the cancellation of the legal representative is justified.
Article 22 Refunding process is explained as follows:
① Members who concluded the Contract for Use of the paid services with QANDA Team may apply for a refund (withdrawal of subscription) within the scope permitted by applicable laws and regulations. Withdrawing the subscription may be restricted for certain reasons, such as if the use of digital content has been initiated. QANDA Team shall specify the conditions in which refunds are restricted, such as the above, during the purchasing process so that the Members can easily recognize such conditions.
② Members may apply for a refund via email, phone call, mobile messenger, and the customer service center in the QANDA App, etc. operated by QANDA Team.
Article 23 Members may use Gifty-Mall as follows:
① Members may use Coins to purchase a variety of mobile vouchers in the Gifty-Mall of the QANDA App.
② The contents of the mobile voucher are subject to change without prior notice depending on the circumstances of the affiliated external companies.
③ If Members purchase mobile vouchers that are used as a means of exchange at an offline store, QANDA Team provides mobile vouchers by sending barcodes for exchange to the purchasing Member’s Account.
④ Members may cancel the purchase of mobile vouchers within 7 days from the date of purchase. In this case, the Coins paid at the time of purchase will be re-deposited into the Member’s Account.
⑤ Some mobile vouchers may not be cancellable. In this case, Members are notified thereof in advance during the sales procedure for the mobile voucher.
⑥ QANDA Team is not liable for any conflict arising due to the reasons attributable to the affiliated external companies.
Article 24 QANDA Team promptly corrects errors arising in relation to payments.
① In principle, Purchases within the QANDA App are made pursuant to the payment method operated by app market operators such as Google and Apple. However, depending on the country in which the user is located, payment methods other than those provided by the app market operator may be provided.
② In the case of overpayment, QANDA Team reimburses the Member without delay. Provided, if an overpayment occurs due to the negligence of the Member without any reason attributable to QANDA Team, the Member may be charged for the cost of reimbursement within a reasonable scope.
③ If the app market operators, not QANDA Team, shall reimburse the overpayment due to procedures, QANDA Team may instruct the Member to apply for a refund to the app market operator, notwithstanding the prior paragraph.
④ Communication charges (call charges, cellular data charges, etc.) incurred in the process of downloading and using the QANDA App shall be borne by the user.
⑤ If there is an error in the payment history, the Member may request its correction to QANDA Team. If the error is confirmed, QANDA Team shall correct the error without delay.
Chapter 6 Resolution of Conflict
Article 25 Users’ Damages in relation to QANDA Services are handled as follows.
① If users suffer from damage while using QANDA Services due to the willful misconduct or negligence of QANDA Team, QANDA Team compensates for such damages. Provided, QANDA Team is not liable for damages due to any force majeure events or willful misconduct or negligence of the user.
② Even if QANDA Team is liable for compensation pursuant to the prior paragraph, QANDA Team is not liable for special damages, indirect damages, or other punitive damages, unless there is a special provision in applicable laws and regulations.
③ QANDA Team does not guarantee the personal identity of the Members and is not liable for illegal activities between the Members.
④ QANDA Team is not liable for damages incurred by communications between users by the medium of QANDA Services or damages incurred by Members trusting the contents of other people’s information or Posts within QANDA Services.
⑤ QANDA Team is not liable for any disadvantages incurred by Members failing to recognize notices or announcements made by QANDA Team pursuant to these Terms and Conditions for reasons attributable to the Member.
Article 26 Conflicts in relation to QANDA Service are handled as follows.
① The original copy of these Terms and Conditions is written in Korean.
② Conflict between QANDA Team and users shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Article 2 Vocabulary used in these Terms and Conditions is defined as follows.
1. “Student-Member(s)” means QANDA Member(s) who are using the QANDA Problem Solution Search Service and/or 1:1 Q&A Service for the purpose of asking educational questions. Student-Members include every user who signed up not only with student accounts but also other types of accounts such as parent accounts, etc.
2. “Teacher-Members(s)” means QANDA Member(s) who signed up with teacher accounts for the purpose of answering questions posted by Student-Members.
3. “Questions Post(s)” means texts and/or images registered by Student-Members to use Problem Solution Search Service and/or 1:1 Q&A Service.
4. “Answer Post(s)” means texts, comments, images, videos, links, and other files registered by Teacher-Members as explanations or answers to the Question Posts.
5. “QANDA Teacher App” means the mobile application operated by QANDA Team to provide 1:1 Q&A Service which provides functions for Teacher-Members to register Answer Posts to the Question Posts of Student-Members.
6. “QANDA Terms and Conditions” means the general Terms and Conditions applicable to all QANDA Services provided by the QANDA Team. QANDA Terms and Conditions are posted on the main page of the QANDA website.
7. Among the vocabularies used in these Terms and Conditions, those defined in the QANDA Terms and Conditions have the same meaning defined in the QANDA Terms and Conditions.
Article 3 These Terms and Conditions are posted and modified as follows.
① QANDA Team posts these Terms and Conditions on the main page of the QANDA Website and QANDA Teacher App so that Teacher-Members may easily check its contents.
② QANDA Team may change these Terms and Conditions to the extent that such amendments do not violate applicable laws and regulations.
③ If QANDA Team changes these Terms and Conditions, QANDA Team will notify and specify the effective date and reasons for such amendments along with the existing Terms and Conditions pursuant to the method of paragraph (1), from 7 days before the effective date to the day before the effective date. Provided, if the amended Terms and Conditions may put the Teacher-Members at a disadvantage, the above will be notified in the same way, from 30 days before the effective date to the day before the effective date. Furthermore, QANDA Team will clearly notify the above via additional means including emails, electronic notes, login pop-up pages, etc.
④ If the Teacher-Members do not explicitly express their intention to refuse before the effective date of the amended Terms and Conditions, even though QANDA Team has clearly indicated that the Teacher-Members will be deemed as having agreed thereto if they do not explicitly express the intention to refuse by the effective date while notifying or informing the amended Terms and Conditions pursuant to paragraph (3), it will be deemed that they have agreed to the application of the amended Terms and Conditions.
⑤ QANDA Team may not apply the amended Terms and Conditions to the Teacher-Members who have expressed their intention to refuse the application of the modified Terms and Conditions. In this case, the Teacher-Members may terminate the Contract for Use under these Terms and Conditions (hereinafter “the Contract for Use”) by withdrawing their membership. QANDA Team may terminate the Contract for Use only if the existing Terms and Conditions may not be continually applicable to such Teacher-Members.
Article 4 Please refer to the QANDA Terms and Conditions and operation policy together.
① If QANDA Terms and Conditions differ from these Terms and Conditions, the contents of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
② To matters that are not prescribed in these Terms and Conditions, QNADA Terms and Conditions shall apply.
③ In the process of providing a variety of Services, additional operation policies may apply. If the contents of the individual operation policies, etc. differ from the contents of these Terms and Conditions, the contents of the operation policies, etc. shall prevail.
Chapter 2 Service Use
Article 5 To become a Teacher-Member, you need to be certified as a teacher.
① Becoming a Teacher-Member requires teacher certification from QANDA Team as the Teacher-Member, after signing up as a Member of QANDA Services. Members shall be over the age of 19 to become Teacher-Members.
② Only currently enrolled or graduate students of specific universities which are determined internally within QANDA Team can be certified as Teacher Members. The accredited universities are subject to change at any time at the discretion of QANDA Team.
③ To be certified as Teacher-Members, a copy of a physical student ID (online student ID or a copy thereof may not be used) shall be submitted. The submitted student ID shall contain the following information.

Applicant’s school information such as the name of enrolled university, college, major, etc.
④ Members who do not possess a physical student ID may request to be certified as Teacher-Members by submitting any of the following documents and an identification card such as a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport.

A copy of the university/college acceptance letter(online screenshots are unacceptable; only copied images of the physical acceptance letter are acceptable)

⑤ QANDA Team, in principle, will accept requests to be certified as Teacher-Members submitted pursuant to this Article. Provided, QANDA Team may not approve the request for the Teacher-Member certification or revoke the approval after the acceptance pursuant to the following subparagraphs.

If the certification is not possible due to the reasons attributable to the Member

If the Member does not use his/her real name
-
If the Member illegally uses names or personal information of another person
-
If the Member provides false information
-
If the user uses IDs already in use
-
If the user fails to submit information and documents required by QANDA Team
-
If the user has a history of loss of membership
-
If the user violates these Terms and Conditions or applicable laws and regulations
-
If the request for the Teacher-Member certification or the communications during the request for certification process contain contents that are against the public order and morals or insult others
-
If there are other reasonable causes for which the approval is objectively impossible or the rejection is inevitable
⑥ QANDA Team may withhold the approval due to the lack of Service-related facilities or other technical or business reasons. In this case, QANDA Team notifies the applicant who requested certification.
Article 6 Please respect your obligations as a Teacher-Member!
If Teacher-Members commit any of the following actions or violate QANDA Terms and Conditions, QANDA Team may suspend the use of all or part of the services for a dedicated period, terminate their Contract for Use, delete relevant Posts, and/or retrieve the Coins relevant to the violations of the obligations. Furthermore, if necessary, QANDA Team may take legal actions against the Teacher-Member or report the Teacher-Member to the cyber police, etc. Provided, this does not imply that QANDA Team is obligated to review every content uploaded on QANDA Services.
1. Inappropriate Answer Posts

Posting in a form other than an image using handwriting, drawings, texts, graphic tools, etc.

Modifying, replicating, or editing works of a third party

Writing only the answer without explanations

Containing only messages irrelevant to the Question Posts

Poor readability or unrecognizable contents
2. Unjustified Acquisition of Coins

Answering his/her own question

Acquiring Coins by participating in events for Student-Members

Not reporting the Posts that violate QANDA Team’s policy and acquiring Coins by providing Answer Posts to them

Requesting the payment of additional Coins to Student-Members
-
Not responding to the follow-up questions of Student Members within 3 hours
-
Acquiring Coins in an abnormal way such as hacking or using Macros
3. Miscellaneous
-
Requesting personal information from Student-Members or exchanging personal information with them

Writing nonsensical Answer Posts, using profanities, or other inappropriate languages or behaviors
Article 7 Please report if inappropriate content is found.
① Teacher-Members may report Questions Posts subject to any of the following subparagraphs to QANDA Team via the problem-preview screen or the screen during the answering process.

If the photo is too dark or blurred

If a part of the question is cropped and unrecognizable
-
If it contains multiple questions
-
If it does not include the necessary passage or information to answer the question
-
If the wrong subject and/or grade level is chosen
-
If it contains a subject that is not provided by QANDA Services
-
If it is outside the elementary, middle, or high school curriculum
-
If it contains obscene, vulgar, discourteous, or other offensive phrases or images
② Teacher-Members may report to QANDA Team if they are unfairly assessed or rejected via the ‘Contact Us’ function of the QANDA Teacher App. This includes such cases of being estimated or rejected by Student-Members even though 3 hours have not yet elapsed since the follow-up question. QANDA Team reviews and takes corrective actions only for reports made within 14 days of the initial assessment or rejection.
③ In addition to the cases specified in paragraph (1) and paragraph (2), if Teacher-Members find inappropriate content within the QANDA Teacher App, they can report to QANDA Team via the ‘Contact Us’ function of the QANDA Teacher App.
Article 8 Solve questions and accumulate Coins!
① Teacher-Members may accumulate Coins as rewards if they post Answer Posts about the Question Posts written by Student-Members and the Student-Member selects the Answer Post. The number of Coins rewarded when selected by the Student-Member is calculated according to the subject, grade level, difficulty level, etc., and is stated on the screen during the answering process.
② If the Teacher-Member does not solve the question viewed and moves on to the next question or closes the QANDA Teacher App, the Coins owned by the Teacher-Member will be deducted.
③ When the Teacher-Member starts solving the problem and/or extends the time to solve the problem, Coins are deducted as a deposit. After the Answer Post is registered and adopted, the deducted Coins will be returned to the Teacher-Member.
④ Teacher-Members may check the history of accumulated Coins and their effective dates via the QANDA Teacher App. The effective period of the Coins may differ depending on the method by which the Coins were accumulated.
⑤ Tax incurred in the process of accumulating Coins shall be borne by Teacher-Members.
⑥ Teacher-Members may not transfer, inherit, sell Coins, or use Coins as collateral.
Article 9 Accumulated Coins may be redeemed for cash.
① Teacher-Members who accumulated more than a certain amount of Coins may redeem available Coins(remaining Coins excluding free Coins) to cash via QANDA Teacher App according to the procedure set by QANDA Team. Provided, fees may be incurred in the redeeming process.
② The conversion rate of Coins to each currency and the minimum amount of redeemable Coins are subject to the policies of QANDA Team and Teacher-Members may check relevant information via the QANDA Teacher App at any time.
③ The redemption of Coins is done by QANDA Team depositing the redeemed cash into the account designated by the Teacher Member.
④ The account to receive the redemption shall be held by the Teacher-Member. Redemption shall not be made to another person’s account.
⑤ In the case of converting and redeeming Coins to cash, a certain amount of withholding tax may be collected pursuant to the relevant laws.
⑥ QANDA Team, if necessary, may request information such as resident registration numbers from Teacher-Members to collect withholding tax such as income tax.
Article 10 Accumulated Coins may be used in Gifty-Mall.
① Teacher-Members may purchase a variety of mobile vouchers using available Coins within the QANDA Teacher App.
② The contents of the mobile vouchers are subject to change without prior notice depending on the circumstances of the affiliated external companies.
③ If Teacher-Members purchase mobile vouchers that are used as a means of exchange at an offline store, QANDA Team provides mobile vouchers by sending barcodes for exchange to the purchasing Member’s Account.
④ Teacher-Members may cancel the purchase of mobile vouchers within 7 days from the date of purchase. In this case, the Coins paid at the time of purchase will be re-deposited into the Member’s Account.
⑤ Some mobile vouchers may not be cancellable. In this case, Teacher-Members are notified thereof in advance during the sales procedure for the mobile voucher.
⑥ QANDA Team is not liable for any conflict arising due to the reasons attributable to the affiliated external companies.
Article 11 Coins may be corrected, canceled, or nullified.
① If errors occur in Coin rewards, Teacher-Members may request QANDA Team for correction within 90 days from the date of the error, and QANDA Team shall correct errors if the request is confirmed to be reasonable or if QANDA Team independently finds errors.
② If Teacher-Members accumulate Coins in violation of these Terms and Conditions or QANDA Terms and Conditions, QANDA Team may forcibly retrieve the Coins.
③ Coins have expiration dates. When the effective period expires, the Coins automatically become nullified.
④ If Coins owned by the Teacher-Member expires after the effective date, QANDA Team notifies the Teacher-Member thereof via push notifications of the QANDA Teacher App or email, etc.
⑤ If all Coins owned by the Teacher-Member become nullified and thus the Teacher-Member is unable to participate in the activities of the QANDA Teacher App, the Teacher-Member may receive a small amount of welcome-back Coins via the customer service center in the QANDA Teacher App.
