When you use our services, you’re trusting us with your information. Qanda, a service of Masspresso, values your personal information and is dedicated to protect it. We are following privacy related acts including <ACT ON PROMOTION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK UTILIZATION AND INFORMATION PROTECTION, ETC> and <PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION ACT>. Your personal information is used only for the purposes and within the scope you agree to, and we do not sell or share your personal information to third parties without your consent. Also, we do not collect sensitive personal information that may be a violation of basic human rights. This privacy policy describes how we collect and use personal information. We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to provide our service Qanda and ask for users’ consent on data collection.

- (Teacher) school information

ii. Optional Information

- profile picture

- (Student) school information

- (Teacher) phone number, name, demographic information

- (Information needed to use paid services) payment information, carrier information, etc.

iii. Automatically collected information

- unique device ID, access logs, IP address, cookies, location information, service usage record, transaction information, malicious usage record

 

B. How We Collect Information

- Sign up, user profile, written form, telephone or fax, service usage, provision from affiliates, automatic collection from device


 

2. How We Use Your Information

 

We use your information for the following purposes:

 

A. Providing Services for Fulfillment of Service Contract and Processing Payments

- Providing content and personalized services, personal identity verification, processing purchase and payments

 

B. Managing Members and Customer Support

- personal identity verification for using our membership service, individual identification, prohibiting fraudulent use or preventing unauthorized use of bad members(users who have violated or have not faithfully followed the member’s duty articulated in article 10 of Terms and Conditions), confirming registration, restricting number of registration, preserving records for dispute settlement, addressing user concerns, giving notices etc.

 

C. Improving Service Quality and Direct Marketing

- Analyzing customer satisfaction through service usage data collection, developing new services and providing personalized services, providing personalized service and showing personalized ads based on statistical characteristics, showing featured content and information on events as well as opportunities to participate, identifying access frequency, analyzing member’s service usage data, validating our services


 

3. Retention Period and Deletion

 

Once its usage purpose has been achieved, personal information provided by users will be deleted using technology that prevents data reproduction. However, we retain personal information for a limited period of time as follows when it needs to be kept for legal purposes or to prevent disputes concerning prevention of malicious use.

v. Record of electronic financial transactions: ELECTRONIC FINANCIAL TRANSACTION ACT, 5 years

vi. Record of visit, access log, access IP address: PROTECTION OF COMMUNICATIONS SECRETS ACT, 3 months

vii. Record of personal identity verification: ACT ON PROMOTION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK UTILIZATION AND INFORMATION PROTECTION, ETC., 6 months

viii. Record of email address and service usage: 3 months from date of account deletion to prevent fraudulent use


 

4. Cookies and Your Choices on Storage, Management and Rejection

 

We use ‘cookies’ to provide personalized service to users. Cookies are small text files that a server that is used to manage a website sends to a user’s browser, and are often stored in users’ computer hard disk. Qanda uses cookies to analyze access frequency or visiting times, to identify and understand users’ preferences and interests, and to implement target marketing by analyzing participation data and number of visits to various events.

Users have the right to choose installation of cookies, and you can accept or reject all cookies by adjusting settings. However, if you refuse storage of cookies, this may affect using our services that need signing in.

Example of cookie settings: Users can choose to allow all cookies, ask for permission each time their browser/device stores cookies, or refuse storage of all cookies by adjusting their web browser options.

Example of mobile cookie settings: web browser > menu > settings > privacy and security > deselect ‘allow cookies’


 

5. Consignment of Managing Personal Information

 

We are entrusting management of personal information as follows:

Trustee: NICE Information & Telecommunication, Inc. (NICEPAY)

Consignment Details: processing transactions such as credit card payments and bank transfers

 

We are making sure that users’ personal information is managed safely. In accordance with relevant statutes, we are clearly stipulating compliance with regulations related to personal information protection when making a consignment contract, prohibition of sharing personal information with third parties and our liabilities. We are also keeping contract details both electronically and in written form.


 

6. Modification of Privacy Policy

 

We have the right to amend this Policy to reflect changes in the law or our services. In this case, we will make public notice of the changes and they will take effect after seven days from the notice date.


 

7. Technical and Managerial Measures on Protection of Personal Information

 

We are taking the following technical and managerial measures to prevent the loss, theft, leakage, alteration or damage of personal information and secure its safety.

 

i. We store and manage users’ password through one-way encryption. Only users themselves who know their account password can verify and make changes to personal information.

ii. We are doing our best to prevent leakage or damage of personal information by hacking or computer viruses.

iii. Few staff members are granted authority to manage personal information, and they are given personal IDs and passwords. These are frequently changed to protect users’ personal information.

iv. In principle, users’ ID and password are only used by members of our service. We do not take responsibility for any issues caused by leakage of personal information including ID and password due to users’ personal negligence or due to intrinsic risks of the Internet. Please change your password frequently and be careful not to disclose your personal information when signing in using another person’s mobile device.


 

8. Members’ Rights and Method of Inquiry

 

Members can access or modify their personal information anytime and request for withdrawal of consent on its collection and usage, or request for deletion of their account. Specifically, users can make changes or click Delete Account in profile settings on our app, or contact the person in charge of management of personal information through customer service. We will process the request and take measures without delay. You can also confirm the destruction of personal information through customer service even after deleting your account. Inquiries about Privacy Policy and other concerns can be made to the person in charge of management of personal information.


 

9. Staff Responsible for Managing Personal Information

 

Members can report any privacy-related concerns caused by using our services to the person in charge of management of personal information or to the department responsible for privacy protection. We will provide a quick and satisfactory response to members' reports.
